I made up my mind on the 555.. After Teds 562, I have to give Eric a go :)

The Dolly, I am still unsure on what I am doing with it. With other ailing equipment, I may pass it down the road. I hate to... But may do it here shortly. .

Have an offer on some other equipment, and I have more saws than I will ever need.

May be passing the Poulans/Craftsman saws down the road as well. To many projects and to little time. :(

I know what you mean. It's too bad, but one must prioritize life at times.

I know what you mean. I'm buying a truckload from a dealer. I'm going to have to sort them out and hopefully build a 181/281 from them or 3.

I'd like to compare my stock PP415 to a stock Dolmar 6400 sometime. I rebuilt it after a guy lost it under a tree. The saw lost. I rednecked fixed it and breathes again.

Funny thing 1st time out with it I about lost it to felling a tree too. You should have seen my friend all 350lbs of him running and diving in the woods getting away from the tree.

It had broken the crankcase in 1 area and cracked the tank. But it is just chainsaw so all is well and cutting again.

Original owner said he bought it at TSC.

I would put a 7900 p/c on the 6400 and use it for your work horse saw.

I should have got my stock 7900 out of the car at the gtg and let people run it, they are pretty impressive.I have run mine with a Sugi 18" for awesome speed to a 34" buried in 55" oak with very good results. It also is a good noodling saw with a 20 or 24" on rounds to big to lift. A very versatile saw indeed.

I want to keep it, but it's either the 6400 or 555... I bought the 555 new, so it's harder to let it go.

Still thinking about it. Right now I need a 25" or 28" Bar to fit a 12 mm Stihl (460). That's priority one now.

I'd probably art with the 362 and port the 555.

I just can't stand knowing the 555 is a "de-tuned" 562. Would bother the heck outta me until I just went and bought a 562.

Not much difference in cut time. Would take a stop watch to tell the difference. The $250 savings ($739 + tax vs $515 no tax m/out of state purchase) was much sweeter than a 3rd of a second faster cut time.

    Nah ;)

I have a 545 and a 550XP that I use interchangeably. Sure, the 550XP is faster but there just isn't that much difference between them. I like them both as they are the same chassis and weight.

I was the original owner of the 545 but was the third owner of the 550XP and it was essentially still new. The first owner must have been a impulse buyer and regretted his purchase for he never used it? The second owner got in a multiple automotive repair tight spot right after he bought it. So now it's mine. I had the 545 for a few mos before the 550XP.

Ported 555 is probably right with the 362 ported. I just don't like the weight of the 362. I'd rather tote a 044.

The few of us local guys need to get together and have a mini GTG. Between Ted, Jeff, yourself, Eric, Bryan, Sean, myself, and a few others, it would be a good time with very little travel time. Seeing how we all live less than an hour away..

The 3 saw 60 cc shootout may only be a 2 saw shootout. The more I think about the other stuff I need? The more I want to sell the Dolmar. It's faster than the 555, but I like the Autotune of the Husq, and after porting, it should be able to steal it's lunch money. Then I would be at the 4 saw level, I have been trying to achieve. :)
