    My brother is with Mom for a week so I am back home and going to work. She is walking with a walker and was able the other morning to shower and dress by herself. She says she is in less pain than before the surgery. It will be slower healing than a younger person but everything looks good.

    This does not surprise me at all. For sure when you are hurting like she was then have the surgery, it helps big time. I well remember the first one I had; I could barely get around before I gave in. Wow! What a change and I was happy.

    The only advice I can give now is to walk every day. Gradually break off the walker to crutches then to cane then to free wheeling. Good luck.

    I must have missed where you decided to go forward with the neck surgery. I pray it will relieve your pain. When is it Dennis?

    I wish I knew... I'm starting to raise cane to see if we can make things happen. One problem is that we're working with two different places. My family doctor works with one hospital and the surgeon works with another one. The CT scan was done in a totally different hospital. Trying to get these places working together sometimes can be a challenge. All I know right now is that the pain is getting worse all the time and sometimes I can't even walk because I get jabbed badly in my neck just taking a step. I'm frustrated... Sorry about the rant. It will get better.

    :(:hair::( I'm so sorry.

    Absolutely raise cane!! Be your own patient advocate. 50 miles from here while in Colorado my doctors network was seamless. One could literally pull up blood work and test results from another with a few clicks. Here it is like yours. And doctors are so hard to contact, leave a message and wait a day or two to hear back from a nurse instead of the doc, then start that cycle over again and again and again with all 3 attempting to get them together.

    If it can help, before my previous home's docs were connected I would request then sign a Release Form (I put my name and WWW's name on it instead of a doctor) on every visit. EVERY VISIT. I've had results faxed, mailed, and on xrays and CTscans they mailed me a computer CD (I had to pay like $5 for those) but it was so worth it instead of chasing doctors offices around trying to transfer my records to the doc that needs them.

    I'm willing to make some calls for you!

    Thanks wildwest. You are a winner! We'll get it done though...somehow. Or simply go to another doctor. However, that pretty much guarantees 4-6 more months waiting time.

    The surgeon should be the one to make it happen, if he has decided you are a candidate for surgery and are healthy enough. I really hope it comes through for you soon, it's awful you have to live like that.
