Dang, biggins they are!! It’s all fun and games till it comes time to move that chit. Lotta wood though. Nice score.
They are big ones! How are you moving those around? My experience with sycamores are they aren't light... It would be good exercise for you to hand split those...
The big ones are all sycamore, in the first picture you can see my friend in the background cutting on what may well be box elder so I did have a little bit of limb wood from that.
Put them on a small dump truck with a skidsteer & dumped at the house. I'll whittle them down from there.
Work for sure you have to do my friend. Wait until you start splitting that stuff. Sometimes people can learn some new works when working with sycamore.
It is for the wood and I would not do all this work just for the wood but it is one of the sons of the farmer I cut on all the time. Cannot begin to even imagine how much wood I have hauled from his many farms.
Good on ya. Got to take care of those who are taking care of you! Sent from my SM-G930VL using Tapatalk
Give and take situation! It always feels good giving back when ya can. More rewarding than the scores of wood that preceded. Good on you. I’ve never worked sycamore. Well, not for firewood. I’ve used it as quarter sawn lumber in small wood working projects. It’s great when sliced that way.
You made me curious enough to drag the splitter out and split a wheelbarrow full. Splitter had no problem at all with the big limb wood.
