Felt like October all day out there and the wind did make it cold. We did not see 60 degrees but I don't think it will go that low tonight. Hope not but if so, we have about 8 pieces yet on the porch so if we need a fire, it won't take long. We even still have some super cedars right by the stove and I haven't done any summer cleaning. The more I think about it, perhaps we'll have a small fire just for the heck of it!

I hear you Dennis. It's been warm and sunny for about a week straight over here, then last night the clouds moved in and it's been cold and rainy all day (well, cold compared to what it has been anyway). I finally broke down and fired up the stove a couple hours ago. House is now up to the mid 60s and I've got to admit, it feels pretty darned good.

It is sooo much cooler here so far this year. Haven't had any AC in the house yet.

It's been warm and soupy in Southeastern Pa for the last couple weeks. Some bad flash flooding over the line in Maryland yesterday that even closed I70. I did a lot of splitting and stacking last week which was rough in the sticky heat. That weather sounds nice right about now.

I sure would like to be contemplating that right now. Its been in the upper 80s low 90s and the humidity has set in. I dont think there will be any fires for a while here.

    Yea , build a fire.
No need to get a chill, takes longer to get moving when you are cold :)

Fire now & then here too.
Seems to take a couple days for the heat soak to cool off after a small fire.
Been hard pressed to see over 60° days + only 40° nights.
Add clouds & were not getting much solar gain.

We even had some fresh white stuff on the mt peaks 3 days ago. o_O

We had a great May though :)

I still haven't cleaned the wood gasification boiler out. The Peerless oil boiler may have to fire some oil to take the chill off........:zip:
