I have been procrastinating this year ;)

Last I cleaned it was around Christmas. I had about 10" of ash in it. Even though the ash pan is only about 4.5" deep, I filled the entire body of the stove up. I wanted to run this stove through the paces this year :) After hearing the torture tests that Enerzone has put it through, I had to see it for myself

Before and after cleaning.. From the pot to the bottom of the ash pan is about 10"

Here is the stove full.. And dirty glass :(

Now the ash pan and all the excess ash that dropped down when I pulled it out.. (some stuck to the angled sides that allow ash to drop in the pan. When it's NOT over filled)

And finally the Heat exchange tubes.. They were filthy. Yet still threw great heat up until the last day of use. :)

This stove is a beast. Starts up quick, throws great heat, lots of adjustment, and troubleshoots itself.

No big cleaning yet. Stove is still being used. Got it on now to drive the dampness out.
I keep after the vent, the burn pot, etc. I have to say I haven't seen much ash in the vent. Just ash in the bin in the bottom. Plus I scrape out the burn pot frequently, and like go take a damp paper towel to the glass. When I do stop for the summer, I'll put DampRid in the stove and plug the exhaust and the outside air pipe. We seldom go past Labor Day before we are back to having an occasional fire.

Glad to hear I'm not the only one that was slow to finish the job. I finally cleaned it last wednesday, and plugged the vent and put Damp rid in last night. Ahhh...much better.

I've been thinking of cleaning the furnace for a few weeks now. But I have to walk past the beer fridge to get to the cleaning tools. It's all downhill after that.

X2... My Fahrenheit has not been touched yet..

But it's such a workhorse, it could probably go 2 years without touching it :)

I made progress. I opened the door and looked inside. Problem is that it's too nice outside to spend any amount of time in the basement. It may rain next week. Sounds like a good after work project for a rainy day.

I did remember that I need to order some parts from Fahrenheit. The top burn plate is shot. May as well get some gaskets as well in case I need them during the heating season.

Send a pic of your burn plate. I know our pots are a little different, but maybe the burn plate is the same? I have an extra one..

Did that a bit ago after cutting some dead branches out of the locust tree in the backyard. :)

Getting ready to fire up the grill and make some burgers. And have another beer. :drunk:

I'll send you a pic when I pull it out. It's impossible to see when retracted and difficult to see when extended. I'm thinking I'll pull that out and clean/paint the firebox next week.
