Just think, you would have probably only gotten 10 years, out in 5 with good behavior, and movin' on with a smile on your face.

B!T@# even took my beautiful dog, half black lab, half Newfoundland. That dog was such a sweetheart and she was sooooo gentle.

That IS pure evil, Dave. And at some point, she will have to answer for it.

I won't make any other comments on that...:zip:

I got divorced 23 years after being married. Had 3 boys 18,17 and 12 at the time. He is a good father. I could not take my 12 old away from his brothers. By the time we went to see the lawyer we had it all worked out. We had already split in half his 401k, our savings and checking. I was coming home to the house I grew up in. Was fully furnished. So just a few pieces of furniture I wanted. No child support. He knew I would be going back to school full time. When his lawyer heard we did not want any child support he said we had to , state law. So my ex looked at me and said..you send it to me and I'll send it right back. Lawyer said he can't do that. He said..it's my money and I can do what I want with it. Great divorce and the kids weren't caught in the cross hair. My ex and Chaz get along great. I wish everybody could go through a divorce like we did.

It's Ok and in the past. Not much I can do about it now. That was 32 years ago... Ironically even today I still miss that sweetie of a Dog! :( She was only a year old when she was taken from me. I was in the Navy at the time and couldn't do much then...

It is a shame your dog couldn't have "disappeared" to a friend's house until you could come home.

I guess, my question is, what is the purpose of marriage today?

You want a party, have a party.

You want to live together, live together.

    You want kids, have kids

You want a contract, have a contract.

You want to leave someone your assets when you die, have a will.

You want to break up, break up.

Today, you can get insurance coverage from your "domestic partner's" work.

Exclude "The State" from your personal life. Keep the lawyers from picking your bones. Keep the relationship fair and balanced.

    Just my experienced opinion.

I know, I didn't see it coming!!! I was on a ship, out in the Atlantic and when I came home, "everything was gone" Except my 1980 Lazyboy recliner and a friggin skillet! :headbang: No warning, no nothing! Trust me, That's why she left the way she did. And, it took forever to get a hold of her. By then 3 weeks had pasted and she knew I would come looking for the Dog. She was staying with a "secret friend" and I couldn't be gone that long from the Navy. That would have just caused "More" trouble... I didn't need... :picard:

That was a tough situation. I'm sure it made it hard to trust anyone again. I'm glad you didn't find that "more" trouble. Small blessings.

Thank you! Yeah, me neither... If I would have turned in the wrong direction, I wouldn't have retired and would not what have what I have today. It was Gods will I suppose, the only way I can look at it...

I had an account with a young secretary, the house her boyfriend (now husband) lived at had a dog in the garage, howled, skinny, lost 1/2 it's hair, it was tall too. She, I, and another helped that dog "disappear". The third (another gal at one of my customers that I played rec softball with) took him as her pet, after being fed and loved his hair grew back, never howled again, and OMG, turned out he was one of the GIANT laboradors, I cannot recall the name of that breed, but HUGE compared to other labs. I about cried and fell over at the same moment when they brought the dog to a game. No leash, he listened to his commands and hung out under the shade of a picnic table, totally relaxed, and like over 100lbs :jaw:

I'm sorry I could not have done that for you Dave.

Thank you so much WW! :tears: It's in the rear view mirror. I'm a grown man and I'll tell ya, I cried like a baby over that dog. :( I was very attached to her and she was me, "I" believe. That was all spite on her behalf and she knew it would rip my heart out! "Karma". I truly believe in Karma!!!

Do a search for Terrance Popp on YouTube; he was in military and has told lots of stories how men under him got screwed over by their wives, losing half of their pensions etc. He isn't politically correct or reserved in speech. Definitely NSFW.
