Haha. I know us trolls are not worthy of the great UP. However being a landscaper I still need to be where I can take advantage of a concentration of rich people such as grand traverse bay and Suttons bay and Lake Michigan. If I was still single without kids I would love to be in the middle of the woods somewhere in the UP
Husky Man if you’re lookin for good bbq, go to a Hard Eight. Very very good brisket and ribs. Pulled pork was meh. Mostly all 15.95 per pound.

Nope, we don’t leave for two more weeks, and I have been working away from home Sunday through Wednesday, and started today with 52 hours in the log book. I haven’t had time for anything but quick and easy, but ya all have me looking forward to some of that Lone Star Brisket and BBQ Doug
If you crave fajitas, you absolutely must stop in at Pappasito‘s Cantina. OMG! I will never eat fajitas in PA again. Simply amazing, that’s all I got... And... if ya want the best fried chicken I’ve ever ate in my 47 years, Babes Chicken Dinner House in Carrollton. Drizzle a little honey on it, damm.... can’t wait to get back! During my week there, those two spots were tops. I can’t pick between them. I’m a bbq guy but these meals were something I will remember for a very long time. To be honest, we do have great bbq here in PA and surrounding areas, even by TX standards.
Hey Wolverine, where is Pappasito's Cantina?, I'm more of a Burrito guy, but your pics had my Wife drooling Doug
10433 Lombardy Lane Dallas, Texas 75220 Get the Skinny Margarita. It was fantastic! We were a group of 7. I also tried the steak and highly recommend. The shrimp was amazing. The fresh made flour tortillas were unreal. The fresh made guac was good, didn't blow me away and the queso was just ok as well.
Thank You, my Best Friend now lives in I believe it is Spring Creek, which is near DFW, so we will have to try Pappasitos out Doug
dfw- freeways are giant parking lots. wasn't bad in the 80's 90's started getting a bit congested, now it is just insane
I live outside of Portland, OR, and as a Truck Driver, I am frequently in the Seattle area, both of which are on the Top 10 list of the nations worst congestion, I KNOW that pain, Fortunately, I am paid by the hour, not the mile, that is seriously the only way to go as a driver, Mileage, you ain't making nothing unless you are rolling at the speed limit or above, and no over time. Doug
Just found this thread. I was in Austin last week of January. Didnt get to do a lot cause of work meetings, drove around a little. Austin was..different.. than the parts of Texas where i was fighting fire in 2006. I went to Franklin bbq on a thursday. OMG...you have to do it. I was debating on going..people line up very early for 11 am opening, and he always sells out. Luckily for me it was kinda chilly for texas weather (low 40s) and i took a gamble and got there at 930. Only about 30-35 ppl in line then. Brisket was unbelievable. Well worth the hype and money, IMO.
Thank You, I will really try to work that in, Maybe Monday while the Wife is in her class, she isn't as Big of a BBQ fan, but mention Brisket, and you have my attention I don't think that we are going to have enough time, lotsa interesting suggestions, it will be hard deciding which ones to fit in, we may have to go back again Doug
So just to be "that guy" that throws a monkey wrench in your hypothetical plans...Franklin is closed on Monday. I tried to attach a pic last night, but my signal sucks so much at home it didnt work...luckily wifi at the station.... And now, for your viewing and drooling pleasure....
She has classes Sat, Sun, and Mon, I was thinking that Monday would likely be the least busy day, Thank You for letting me know they are Closed on Monday, I will have to try Saturday or Sunday, but definitely on my list Yep, I’m Drooling Doug

I don’t need to travel half way across the country to split wood, I have about 7-8 cords that need to be Split and Stacked at home That pile is four rows deep the second, third and fourth rows are 6-8’ longer than the first row I recently used the last out of my 4 cord shed, and have some upgrades/modifications before I start loading it. We had ONE DAY without measurable Rain, the whole month of January, and I think that I was working out of town, I sure don’t Remember it Appreciate the offer though Doug
