20 here. 14 overnight. A goodly amount of sunshine. Typically in February we start getting more sunshine. Also the average temperature starts raising. It is expected to raise another 6 degrees in the next 3 weeks. In March it will start raising even faster.
My boys are obsessed with trains, and there a park near us that scale trains that are big enough you can sit on the cars and ride. It’s open a couple of times in the summer and for Halloween. It’s about a 10 min ride and they love going. And yes the chair is nice to warm up in from outside. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Well, first time in a week almost since I got the stove running.... The dry cold front is coming through so I started burning some lodge pole I split last summer. Definitely seasoned within 6 months as I split several larger pieces and they were 15 to 18% in the fresh split. Low humidity and hot summer helps I bet.
-8 with a slight breeze out there. Brrrr. Wood Gun filled with Ash and Beech. I’ll be getting up very early to see how it’s lasting through this wind chill.
High 20’s overnight. Added a good load of oak split a few weeks ago, with a few pieces of seasoned stuff from last year. Stars out tonight, always nice to load the OWB at times like this. Put in enough to ensure I can sleep in if I choose.
I also fired up early this evening. Moon is bright and didn't have to struggle on the back side of the wood pile to grab the larger rounds.
9 here with 60 inside, plenty of banked coals from last night came to life toasting Cherry and Black Locust to their destiny.
It just got colder. WTH? -17 and I put more Beech in the Wood Gun. I filled it last night about 8:30 I think. Got up at 2:30 and there was a 1/4 load left. Filled it. At 6:45 there was a 1/4 load left. There is a breeze out there.
12f light wind ... It just keeps draining the slab pile . I'm at 4 bundles less then last year .. each bundle is 100 gallons of LP ruffly convered.. Sent from my LGL84VL using Tapatalk
-20°F this morning. House got down to 59, chicken coop 9° Loaded the stove half hour ago, house up to 65° Last night......
-10 out 75 inside still on coals but not for long. Cleaned up a mess yesterday. 4-5” with a crust on top and a 1/2” layer of ice right in the middle. Glad I waited until it was all over. A few neighbors blew snow as the first round was ending and they now have a coating of ice they can’t get rid of. Supposed to be above freezing most of the week though
Temperature was in the teens but already up to 27. A little snow forecast but they've reduced the amount they are guessing.
