Haha don't worry, I already emailed the guy and told him I'll pass. I told him if he can get the title in hand to let me know and I'll come take a look if Im still in the market. I'm going to go take a look at the Kodiak next time I have some free time. I've seen the Can-Am up close so I want to put eyes on the Kodiak before making my choice. I'd still preferred used to save some money but the prices on these 2 machines brand new is hard to beat.
My buddy and I bought brand new yamaha’s from unlimited cycle in 2016. Pricing was ridiculously cheap, so we made the drive from Ohio to buy them besides a local dealer. Transaction was smooth and no hiccups.
Did you get the 07 or the 09? I've guy a buddy with an fz07. He likes it, but that was his first bike. He's now looking to get moaaaar pooooowerrr
I think you'd have to get a different model. There's an outlander max that's a true 2up. More$$ though. That said, I've had my wife on the back of my sportsman 500 quite a bit. It's only a 1 person ATV. I'm sure there's enough room on the new Kodiak for us to ride 2up too like that. You can get one of those rear seat rear rack thingies. Now 2 up on a small machine like the old bayou 300? Not really well. My buddy and I do that, but one of us sits on the rear rack off to the side. Just an easier way into the woods than walking.
I’ve got an old bayou 300 also, it does what I want. I bought it used and the shifting has always been quirky & now I think the transmission is getting worse. Been watching for another one so I would have a parts machine if’n one gives up completely. Just yesterday I spotted one not very far away coming up for sale on an online auction. I’ll be keeping an eye on it. I don’t use it a lot. Moving the splitter and spraying weeds mostly
i know a lot of people that have bought machines there and have been plenty satisfied. As for me, i haven't bought there.
I bought the fz09, my buddy bought the 07. The 07 is good bike, but the 09 is a lot more bike for the money and it rips. Stomped all over the R6 it replaced.
That’s because decent used quads are hard to find in Ct. People buy them, find out there’s no legal place to ride them, and let their teenage kids destroy them. I looked for quite awhile for my first quad. Whole lot of trashed stuff out there. Ended up buying a new 570 Sportsman Utility edition. The utility has free features I like better than their more expensive sportier models. FWIW 500 miles is nothing. Did that in about four months just having fun.
I have a Suzuki King Quad 300, bought it used. Hi and low 4WD plus super low locking differential. A true pulling beast. Weather is hammering us since we’re working outside but building a log arch to pull behind the quad for pulling out logs and big tree tops that were left behind on a select cut. Weather ever cooperates and we get the arch finished I’ll post a vid of quad and arch in action.
After 7 weeks or so I finally ended up buying one. I ended up with the 2018 Outlander 450 I mentioned in my first post. I told the guy I'm going to pass as long as he's got a loan...fast forward to this past week, he called me out of the blue to say he paid it off and has title in hand. I drove over this morning. It's a 2018 w/505 miles and I paid $3800. It's the higher trim model with power steering as well. They seem to be about $6800 new so I figured what the heck. Seems to be in great shape from what I can tell.
Looks brand new! I’d say you got the important approvals out of the way also. That’s a great deal and I’m sure you’ll be happy with it for a long time to come. The only thing we wish we had on the Outlander 400’s we had was power steering in the rough stuff and you got that covered.
Thanks! Its not 100% perfect, couple little scratches, but otherwise it appears to be in great shape. I'm going to pick up all new fluids for it and go through it real good, but other than the usual maintenance items Im hoping its ready to work!
