We came across a 1993 from year 2000 Jack London mini series. It's GREAT! Must be 35-40 years since I last read a book of his compiled stories and I still remember the plots in this series vs the recent abbreviated White Fang movies etc.

Made banana pancakes this morning, no good reason for making plain pancakes for so long, it was delicious! They used NH Maple Syrup (Secret Santa, thanks NH mountain man !!) and I used Kentucky honey from Brandon Scott , thanks Brandon!!

The gift I gave for WWW this Christmas is a solar "street light". It's PITCH BLACK out here at night and frankly not being able to see the driveway and front door at night is kind of creepy. He's rigging a way to mount it now. No way the poles (not included, purchase separately which I did not) would stand a chance in the wind out here. We'll see what he comes up with :) This one is awesome, it comes on a dusk and stays on til dawn, we weren't thrilled with the motion detector ones. Hope it works for us!

A spare key newly hidden in the front yard  for the next time I lock myself out :picard: Think I will call the garage door company for repairs, I don't have it in me to go out there and study and google etc. to repair the belt drive opener and have them repair or replace the broken outside keypad to the chain door opener too.

Yep, jet set rock and roll family

Time will tell. Double yokes bolted.

Hide a pair of gloves out there for when you forget where the spare key is hidden...

    :salute:

I cannot tell you how grateful I was that the FJ locks do not work so I could grab a jacket out of there! Jacket is back in there already, I'll leave gloves in there after bus tomorrow :handshake:

Morning all. Everyone still in bed after celebrating the Super Bowl win last night? Woke up to freezing temps and a skiff of snow on the ground from yesterday's snowfall. Off to work today. Where did January go? 1/12 of the year gone already.

Finished a pair of socks watching the Chiefs win and then started on a baby blanket. I guess curling will be the next sport I knit through until baseball starts.

So happy the niners lost. Happy that Andy Reid won a Super Bowl, along with the entire chiefs team.

Oh, and I am 100% in on the idea that Superbowl Monday should be a national holiday.

Up early today. Went out to the shop and shaped and sanded a couple small live edge slabs for a matching set of end tables I'm making.

Once it got light out I gave the boiler a good cleaning....emptied ashes, pulled out the fan and gave it and the housing a good scrubbing and vac'd out the chamber it sits in, lubed up the damper plate real good with ATF. Should be good to go for the rest of the season....just need to throw wood in it once a day.

When I was cleaning the boiler a pair of bald eagles did a low (20-30') flyover and landed in a tree in the back yard. I usually see them once a month or so, but they are usually 200-300 or more feet up.

Supposed to hit 60 here today....going to light the fire pit and have a cookout this evening after I finish up work for the day.

What about that kids idea to change the next SuperBowl to Saturday night? He is getting a lot of support for his idea.

Superbowl and Sunday go together like peanut butter and jelly. Also, aside from a couple of playoff games, pro football has always been on a Sunday. Except for Monday and Thursdays. Lol

I see the kid's point, but compared to other countries, the US is deficient in national holidays. So make up for that by having "Post Superbowl Monday" as a paid day off.

I agree we should add a few Holidays. But. There is already a Federal Holiday in February for Presidents’ Day.

If we are going to add a Holiday we should add one in a month we don’t already have one. And it probably shouldn’t be for a sport.

It will be a positive for more people, and the NFL, if more people can watch it. Saturday Night would let more young ones watch it. And be better for all in my opinion.

Well with the halftime show they had I don’t know if I want the young ones watching. Cindy banned anymore 1/2 time shows at our house.
Which is 0K with me I was already asleep. I asked her why she was watching football. She was waiting for it to get over so she could watch the masked singer. :rofl:
