Last bag of the TSC/Curran’s junk just went in the hopper. Dry January is over and I am settling in to retirement which I forgot to mention happened on 12/31. 41 years with the same municipality/government. A long time for sure and they gave me a great send off. Today is day 33. Now where did I leave that handle of Titos?.....

One year, ten months left for me. I can't wait! 40 plus years standing on concrete in the cold is enough for me.

Thanks everyone. Yes 6 Saturday’s and 1 Sunday makes a week. I haven’t been on here much but now I find time to check in at least twice a day. Lots to do here at the homestead and then off to Smokey the Bear country (Maine) in the Spring. Sooo looking forward to not driving home in Sunday traffic in the summer.

Congrat's HL007 good for you man and I to look forward to not having to get up to go to work ! Enjoy man obviously you have earned it.

Bhags I have the same about another 10 years as I have started over twice in my life both of which I was left penniless and had to start over. If my memory serves me right your a rodbuster ? memory does not serve me very well these day but thought that was what I read at one time or another , if so sure your body is looking forward to it as well.

Hope all are well and warm .

I don’t know what I would do when retirement comes. My trial runs on vacations at various points haven’t gone so well.

PSA - If you mention an error to the person who is compiling membership information, and they say they checked and and there is no error, and send screen shots of the file sent (showing correct info) and screen shots of the original welcome email (showing the correct info), make sure there isn't an error on your part before pushing any farther. At least make sure there isn't something in your software that is causing you to see it incorrectly.

Info is compiled in an Excel spreadsheet that I send out every month to the organization's officers. Lady's name is Lori Yackatan and her email is [email protected] (okay, I made up the name, but the letters I need for illustration are in there). Guy tells me he has gotten no delivery returns because I spelled the email as lvackatan. Um, nope, I show it as LY not LV and send him screen shots. He sends me a screen shot where the row clearly isn't of a height to show the whole email address (couldn't see the line underneath) and says, nope you messed it up.

I tell him to enlarge the row height, that it is a "y". Now, since he is also an officer of the organization, I'm trying to be polite and don't add on "moron" or "dufus" or "idiot".

At least he sent an acknowledgement that I was correct :D

Hey, I'm extremely willing to own up to any mistakes I make, correct them and immediately send to interested parties, so believe me when I tell you it is you, not me!

Yesterday day was 5of!!! But winds so high, part of the highway got shut down. Storm hit early this AM, just plowed driveway, only 10" but some 1.5' drifts. Did this mainly so it would be easier to get plow truck out tomorrow(it's uphill), as more white stuff coming later tonight.

    Yesterday was a great day..

    NO STOVE STUFF...
We finally got things tied up on a little friend that I have wanted for over 50 years.
I have been making noise about building a snowcat/van

We met with a fella yesterday about noon and did some paperwork and $$$$ stuff on this bad boy.

To most it looks like 45 miles of death valley fire trail ROUGH

    Actually it's in nice shape...
The beast is sitting in a soggy spot and we are going to wait for a bit better weather to fetch it home.

I am about as excited as a kid in a candy store....well that's a relative term...

One piccy of a complete machine with its tracks on for reference.

Best part is the fella has it on a trailer and will let us haul it home and then bring his trailer back.

Far nicer than having to reload it on our trailer

Wish it was home now...oh well...worth the wait...especially after 50 plus years of wanting a snow cat.
