I'm not like that in general. But for the first few years of owning my 4runner the fan for the heat & AC didn't work on low. After looking on youtube and seeing how easy the fix was I got it done. Took a $14 blower motor resistor and 5 minutes.

I spent most of a day last summer taking the wipers, cowling, getting screws out of the cowling, on my toyota. Had a leak to the inside of the cab, read on a toyota forum, that I had to do this, then silicone the screw holes shut, put the screws back in, did that and had to wait till winter for it to rain. It wouldn't leak when i washed it, lol. So, this winter, its been raining and raining and raining, and my cabs leaking again. So, now i'm waiting for summer again, to reseal it again, and see if it will leak again!! :)

Did you verify that's where the water was coming in? The carpet behind the passenger seat in my T100 was getting soaked a couple years ago. Took me a while to find out how. Once the water gets in it can take odd paths behind things like trim panels. Mine was a door seal that was cracked at the top front corner, then the water travelled behind trim panels to the back of the cab.

You guys are making me want to actually find the proper acorn headed nut that holds the handle on my Lopi stove door. We just slide the handle back on when it comes off in our hand.

I’ve been meaning to fix it and have been reminded for ummm.... Has it really been two years since I installed the stove and it wasn’t there?

You are probably right about this. I find I work much faster when I have someone around. There is some characteristic of the human psychology that makes this so.

In 2020, the interweb makes finding someone much easier. If you haven't tried dating sites, try a few out.

Mine shows water coming down beside the glove box, on the face of the lower part of the dash, its not a lot, but, over time could take its toll. This cowling leak, appears to happen on a number of the earlier model tundra's. The door gaskets are all good, no drains that i can find, are plugged, and nothing in the glove box gets wet. So, as i said, come summer i'll pull the wipers off again, as the cowling, get some more silicone sealer, load up the screw holes, and try to ''fix'' it again. I'm glad i have good rubber mats that have a large high rib around the outside edge to catch this, ''run off''.
