I need to hook up with a guy like that. I've been wanting to get into a little basic climbing, to do work around here instead of hiring tree guys, if nothing else (and I want the rush.) :) I haven't dug in online yet to see what I can learn, but at this point it seems like a steep learning curve. How did you learn what you know so far? I'm an old goat so I'll have to get in a little better shape before I can do anything...

Might be worth a trip in for you, I think his grand opening is July 12th.

Im hoping ot get to work with him a bit, offered to trade him some labor to learn what and how he does. So far I have just gone for it with no real training. But I wnat to learn the right way, he ha a lot of knowledge that makes the work a lot easier/safer.

Yeah. I figure that if I kill myself, it will be terribly inconvenient. o_O

I have a classic old tree-work book, that should have some good stuff in it, but there's been improvements in gear since then, I'm sure. And I have a knot book...
You know, there's way more to learn in this world than there is time. :)
