Kill switch not working

    Why do i have to choke my saw to shut it off? Thank you in advance

    The shut off switch on my huskys, is the choke. I push it down to shut off. No separate start/stop switch on them.

    My older husky40 does have a separate start/stop, but not the newer models.

    I do not know what saw you have but it could be as simple as a switch or the wire to the coil an or ground is broken on the stihls the switch contact is also suspect but in any case none of the problems are to difficult to fix

    What saw? It could be a number of things, broken wire, broken or dirty switch, if it is a Stihl the presences lever may be buggered up. The make and model would narrow down the possibilities.

    the newer huskys have a switch it is built into the same lever there is a contact when you push that lever down you lift the lever for choke

    Husky 576xp is doing it and now the small echo 250 is doing it. Iv been running these saws hard for months now too.

    Echo has a toggle switch on the opposite side of the saw

    576 should be single lever control. My guess is linkage.
