I got out and about today, hoarded a little roadside red oak. Trimmed it up and added it to oak to be split pile.
Nice little score for not going too far out of the way midwinter. I scored some dead branches on way home from work at the cemetery today. About 3 days worth of heat and Just about ready to burn after they sit in the house for a day to dry the rain water. These are the kind of quick grabs I've been making lately to extend my cordage through the season. The heavy winds have been a big help this year
No, that was the park with the sheriff. The cemetery is still a place I can roam around in my car and look for fallen branches mostly around 4 to 5 inch diameter stuff i can drag to my car and cut up. I Just gotta keep an eye out for the grounds keeper
Still have all the traps out, but no mice. No squirrels either. Things are quiet for now, thanks for asking.
Plenty of trimmings at the dump today. Mostly Bradford pear, also some mulberry and cherry. I've noticed that the Parks dept. has been cleaning up local parks. They had a chipper at the park near me, but maybe they're not chipping it all. Or it could be from some other source. Anyway, into the car it goes! I'll go back this afternoon, see if there's any more.
Another load this afternoon, some oak chunks mostly. Todays scrounging total! Must be spring cleanup starting early while the weather's good.
Looks like you cleaned up! Not bad for two loads. How close is the dump? My compost center is shut down til mid March.
If you live close enough you can fly a drone over the dump to spy on what might have been dropped off....Or is that too high tech for car hoarders?
