Asked you about coming to Florida. Something you would like to do? Hand to hand combat with a fiberglass cane pole. It’s all you can do to pull one of those monster bluegill or shellcrackers off the nest. Most fun you can have with your clothes on...

I would love that! If/when we make it, I will let you know. Sometimes I watch people on youtube wading and catching those beauties. The cane pole option would be the way to go.

My parents are down your way now in the Ft. Meyers area with some friends escaping the winter for 3 weeks.

March/April is best. Water is warm but the sun won’t kill you. If you pull up to a nest you can catch your limit of 50 in 30 minutes! 2 lb plus. Free place to stay if you want.

Good morning everyone! 34° here, with the heavy rain holding off until this evening. Hopefully after my drive down to MA to bring my grandson home. Won't be freezing rain anyway.
I'm doing pretty well with my splitting. Most of it is small enough so I just split it in half. Putting it in temporary racks for now, there will be a lot of reshuffling to do come spring.
Squeaking out of January without much real cold, and the weatherman says he doesn't see much chance of frigid weather in February either. But, it can always snow.
Grandson today, no Kung Fu class because of Lunar new year. The year of the Rat... tPwE1C0.jpg Have a good day all!

Plenty. hovlandhomestead is in the dark. Midwinter is playing with rats. T.Jeff Veal is no doubt helping someone. Chvymn99 is smoking a cigar.

:hair: I dont know what it is but those masks they used to wear really creep me out. I'm not sure what ever possessed doctors to wear those ugly things.

Things started to develope out there at 10am. Seems to be the magic time right now. Saw nothing from 8-10, then these two within 20 minutes of each other.

Spear is made by a guy from Melrose MN, Decoy by a guy in Park Rapids, MN.
