Yep, corp accnt files extension every single year, says the new tax laws take a few months to learn every year. Then this last year, goes MIA for many months. We now have corp and personal taxes but the corp taxes, but owe $39 in interest or penalty or whatever it's called, and they just don't make sense unless I apply the next years tax rate......... Idk, I only know doing our personal taxes before the corp stuff. scorps suck.

How was the fish? Type of fish? Where did you two go to get in on that?

Fish fries are a big deal here too. My favorite is our kitchen, but we go out to several each year.

Haddock I'm sure. Around these parts, don't know any restaurant that doesn't serve fish on Fri. Seems like tradition. Mine was deep fried and hers was baked.

yooperdave Haddock in The he Great Lakes? Kinda spoiled a little on that but fresh out of the ocean is awesome. Know some people hat fish commercially for it, you’ve never had better.

That rain turned to snow at 4 pm here. We heavy sticking snow. The driver home today was pretty slick. I'd rather have the rain since I have to drive across the state tomorrow am.

Whitefish on the great lakes, along with salmon and trout, and smelt. Inland there's the walleye and such. Perch fishing on the great lakes has dried up, but there's also walleye in places.

We had a plumber here this morning to do some work for us. When he left, it must have taken him 10-15 minutes to drive 75 yards. We had a thin layer of snow and it was the wet kind. He had one of those front wheel drive trucks with summer tires on it.
Had a good laugh from it.

When our daughter was attending Bemidji State we got fish in restaurants there from 288,000 acre Red Lake. The band there commercial fishes walleye and perch for sale to restaurants and individuals. When we lived in Hovland the band members and some local grandfathered commercial fisherman supplied us and the restaurants up there with lake trout, whitefish and herring. If I went to the guy's fish house in the morning for cleaning I could pick up a coaster brook trout, salmon, and even the occasional lake Superior walleye. One of the biggest pike I ever saw was caught in a Grand Portage band member's net, it was well over 25lbs. It had the clearest white markings and belly I have ever seen on a fish...absolutely beautiful creature. It was very fat as well from eating deep water soft rayed smelt, whitefish and herring it's whole life. When I caught those lake run pike and walleye in the tributary rivers, they made some of the best eating fish anyone could imagine.

One guy commercial fished an inland lake in the BWCA about 20 miles from our home for whitefish through the ice in March. Those fish were served at the border store and restaurant in Grand Portage. They were excellent. My wife and I would go there for lunch once a week for that fish when it was coming in through ice out.

2 lbs ground beef, large can petit diced tomatoes, 8oz can of tomato paste, salt, basil, oregano, and lots of fresh garlic. Simmer at least two hours gradually adding a quart of my own garden tomato sauce as it thickens.

Layer in pan in order: sauce, shredded parmesan, cottage cheese, mozzarella slices, noodles, repeat, top with remainder of sauce and shredded parmesan. Bake at 375f for 40 minutes.

Getting local fish like that isn't as easy as it should be around here. That's why when you go to a local fish fry, it's typically haddock or Pollock. Perch it's an upgrade, but you'll pay for it. Rarely you'll see bluegill.

The best was lawyers in Washington island in Wisconsin. The best ever. Basically a freshwater cod. Burbot is another name for lawyers.

Those eel-pout/burbot are great for eating. We catch them occasionally in winter. In Maine they are called Cusk I believe. Some guys are starting to target them here, but for the most part they are a by-catch while targeting lake trout or walleye. Leech lake MN had an annual festival in their honor in February each winter.

Do they not have that burbot festival anymore? We heard about it here in Wisconsin, at least in the northern part of the state. I "caught" a burbot while taking the dock out of the water in Eagle River Wisconsin once. It was tiny and was caught in a dock pipe. Too me a while to figure out what it was.

I still like to call them " lawyers" . I feel better about eating them then. ;)

It was canceled for this year. It was getting to be too much trouble in terms of clean-up out on the lake where people set up a city of sorts. I heard that a local resort is planning something instead, but I don't know if it will be out of the city of Walker.

Early morning workout with my son. Half way through. Then home to get to work with the 310J again.

You are always working on your place. I was wondering what your endgame is.
