    Nope.

Yesterday, during the ay, I had posted that I feel some consumption coming on. I was corrected in short order (although it still does also apply to consuming anything-not just the sickness) So then, I re-posted I feel some consuming coming on....this was in the what adult beverage thread.

    That's what I figured.

It's just an old saying, that I never hear anyone my age or even a bit older really say anymore.

I have over three weeks of doing crunches to increase strength and flexibility in now and have been in pain ever since I started. Years ago, I would do them and they would bring relief to my lower back conditions. This was before I learned just how bad of shape it is in. With that in mind, I figured I'd try them once again and am currently up to 200-300 crunches per day. Now these are not a total sit up by any means. But both hips and sciatica in one leg and lower back and knees seem to be getting worse.

I'm thinking maybe finish out the month and see if my body improves? What thinks youse?

Have you ever tried doing planks? They are a great way to strengthen your core and are much better on your back than crunches.

Have not heard of them. I'll give them a try, thanks.

You are probably over-doing on the crunches. 30-60 should be plenty to keep your stomach in decent shape - crunches actually aggravate a hip issue I have on my left side. And, overdoing in one area unbalances other areas. Are you doing anything to strengthen your sides and lower back? Try hip lifts (on the ground or off a balance ball) and do side sit ups, or dumbbell side crunch. Also when ending do some yoga type stretches such as the "bird dog" I do those and hold position for 5-10 seconds when I hit the stretched out portion.

Planks are good, can aggravate any shoulder injuries. You also want to make sure you don't lift your butt, or let your stomach sag - but once you get the positioning correct, they do an excellent job of strengthening core and support muscles.

Three day weekend! Today will consist of dirt work with the 310J. I’ve been very fortunate to be able to do all this dirt work in the late fall and winter! Hoping I can get all of it done in this entire area and the be able to drag it with the York Rake in the spring and get it seeded so I’ll have it finished off early. I hope all you folks have a great day and weekend!

Thought about that but I pretty sure I would lose what little discipline I have left for the exercising...

I don't think I'm over-doing it. I'll do sets of 50 (up to 100) and then stretch in between sets and again once I'm done. In the early 2000's I would do over 1000 a day. I wore different sized pants then......

I will add some sides to the routine. I added dumbbells last night and one of the exercises you recommend is in that set also.
