Asplundh hit my road yesterday and i got permission for a beautiful giant dead standing Ash that is now laying down for me to get 500 ft up the rd from my driveway. With yesterday’s sales the way they were this one might be sold today before i even touch it. Pics to come, God I love this $&!@
Got a nice dry cherry tree down the road, took snap cuts away from that ash, couple sticks of pine. Goin back for the ash tomorrow. Delivered another cord too.
That cherry looks pretty dry. Curious to hear what the moisture reading says. No ants in the base either, which is suprising.
Actually that big base pic is the ash and the cherry is the one laying in the snow. Quick question without creating a thread about it. First of all Facebook has blown up rediculous, i never imagined it be like this. Iv booked almost $2000 in sales in less than a week, delivered 1/2 of it and now an older gentleman booked for Saturday morning late last night $300 cord. He said he needs it hand-stacked on his porch. I told him another $50 he said ok but is that fair for the both of us. I just dont want to short change him or myself. Im on the fence about me, depending how far it is ( he wants it on the porch) its not an easy job stacking a fat cord
Bring a helper, know any local kids? Drop him off with the partial cord while you go back for the rest of it?
I was thinking my Dad and doing a 75/25 split on the deliveries this weekend looks to be over $100o going out so far. Ill be splitting that dead Ash all night tonight and iv got a cord of cherry And a bunch of Ash ready to go. All of the stuff i split last summer is still not up to my standards. Theres also two really nice seasoned by nature maples diwn the rd also just dropped by Asplundh. This is so exciting of course my wife is loving it everytime i come home she just holds her hand out for the cash its so funny. Shes lucky she so darn cute lol
Omg i just got a horrible story of what a women down the rd fom me got for $600 dollars in december. This is making me really angry, i swear im declaring war on moisture and dirty wood in my area.
Time is money and your time is now extremely valuable. I get $20 extra to stack a half cord provided i can get very close to where it will be stacked. $50 is fair provided the porch doesnt have a lot of stairs. Chris, do you make two trips for a full cord?
Yes, i only do within ten miles $300, yesterday i it took me an hour and a 1/2 to deliver a cord. Outside that 10 miles is $175 for half and $135 face plus $20 for delivery or less if there closer
If you can get close to stacking area, that's reasonable. Is the gentleman in decent shape to help you? Ask him to help if he is. Glad your business is doing so well. We didn't advertise this year and sold everything we had CSS, about 10 cords, and they are still calling.
$50 for stacking a cord, even if it's a heavy cord, should be fair. At least as long as it's not too difficult to get to where he wants it stacked. I'd take a look at the situation.
So I was fooling around with that big stump cut that they left. I whacked it with the fiskars and then decided to kick its a$$ buZZsaw BRAD style. Full cord delivery this am and stacked it. I backed the truck rt up to the porch nice and easy. Then i came home and worked on all the trees on my road. I got 3 Ash total and the giant is done. I came home and split the whole truck, wow im beat. Got a delivery tomorrow too and then same thing cut wood.
