    We had a drought ( I think it was three Summers ago now) and we lost a lot of the understory pines. The ones I didn't get to are starting to all fall over now. most too soft to bother with. We had some christmas trees ( balsam firs ? ) that couldn't compete with the local pines coming up around them and we lost them too. Boy they really go quick.

    Just some Alder that is about 1/2 punky. Truth is most people wouldn’t bother, but I have to clean it up anyway. It will season fast and burn hot, albeit short.
