It's a piece of holly I found in the log pile, been cut almost 2 yrs, split it the other day. May try to cut a little off our place.
I think -2f tonight and 9f tomorrow. At least a little warming after that to the mid-thirties with some snow/ice/whatever.
30ºF outside right now. Red maple all day but it just isn't cooling off outside very fast. Got too warm in here so the stove is cold right now. Last fill was mid-afternoon. Good odds will be lighting up some white pine in a few hours. Supposed to get cold again but Wed and Thurs not as cold as was forecast a few days ago.
14* out 68* in...been stirring coals for a bit trying to get them burned down some so I can load up and go to work.
15 feels like 5, 76 inside still on coals. Not warning up much next few days until Thursday then back above freezing for a couple anyway and a little melting.
It was about 20* last night when I went to bed, so the stove did not get much of a load. Woke up to -15*.... it got a full load of oak and ash....
-2 here this morning. I didn’t get up early enough and the Wood Gun ran out of wood. Now it’s going again but the bubblin goo boiler just turned on. Ash, Pine, and Beech slowly warming it back up.
Bright sunshine here today. A very nice winter day with the blue sky and (ugh) snow. Heck, even those dastardly pine trees look nice.
Been stuck at 17 all day Big chunk of maple and small ash topped off with 8 big shovels of chips bark and sawdust. Gonna chooch real good tonight
It’s currently 35 here and I’m burning some standing dead pin oak I cut a couple days ago. Burning like a champ. It’s about 21% on the meter
Hickory CSS 5+yrs ago- gonna have to search that thread out. Southern winter 22f finally came and I reached that layer in the pile. It coals amazingly well- almost too well but I held 73 inside overnight with no load until 5am
