Don't think if I ever answered you. Still trying to figure things out. We're looking at, hopefully, insulating and siding this house this summer. I would possibly like to go to well seasons this year.

Had a nice shear pin free day at the cottage cleaning up all the snow. Yes, the plow came by while I was there to push the banks back just as I was cleaning up the rest of the plow wash across the driveway. Worked out great.

I think I'll have a couple people over down there for a mid-winter (Not to be confused with Midwinter ; but she is welcome too) cookout and relax in the Dave cave portion of the garage. Burgers on the grill sounds good!

    Pet peeve time.
I haven't wrapped my head around the idea that the drivers can't angle the plow THE OTHER DIRECTION when going down the road. The other side of the road is nothing but woods, and swamp. The snow would be quite happy there, instead of in my drive approach.
It's like they're just in zombie mode or on auto-pilot. No thinking allowed.
Ok, I'll quit whining now. :dancer:

Yup...if there is no reason they cant (another driveway, fire hydrant, etc) then it is just lazyiness.
When we get hit with a monster snow storm (rare these days around these parts) I am on the reserve plow driver list for my employer...I try to not plow driveways shut, especially if they have been cleared already, or I know that it is gonna cause a hardship for the resident to clear the plow swarf...now if I see them standing by the garage with a big grin and revving up their shiny new 36" snowblower...you gettin plowed in buddy!

The FJ is home!! The good news is the heater blows hot air, the bad news it all blows out of the defrost
As I was driving and kept getting dust/grit on the steering wheel and wiped it off a few times before I realized that duct was full of dirt/dust. Still need to figure out if the manual pump to lift the seat works.

    WOW is it PEPPY!

Similar situation here. We are on a dead end street, last home in and down a hill. The plow goes down the hill, plowing from left over to right so the big header snowbank in on the right. No homes on the left side. To make matters worse, once he is done pushing it around the cul-de-sac. he has his driver's side door facing the front of my house. He steps out and takes a nature's call. The plowing was with every storm. Nature's calling not every time, just enough to anger me. I agree with you, "in zombie mode or on auto-pilot. No thinking allowed."

As a former plow driver. I don’t understand what you are complaining about. You plow from the center of the road out to the edge.
If you don’t want your driveway plowed in, clear a pathway about three feet wide by about 12 to 14 feet long on the side of your driveway on the side the plow normally comes from. This will empty the snow from the plow before it gets to your drive. Snow plow drivers are not lazy just trying to get a job done as quickly as possible. Or everyone criticizes how long it takes to clear the roads.

    This.

Also, when you've been plowing for countless hours, you do end up on autopilot to some degree.

If there is that much clear the plow should empty before it gets to your driveway un less he is plowing from the other direction?

Short road, and all homes on one side. Why can't they come down the road with the plow angled AWAY from the house side driving on the wrong side of the road, then when on the return trip come down the other side of the road angled toward the non-house side. If you saw my road, you'd see it wouldn't be that difficult or slow them down. A very slight change would keep all the drives from being plowed in. When it snows, very little chance there's any other traffic for that to be a problem.

Highlighted: done that when I had the plow hooked up to the GT. That's not working at the moment. Ain't no way in hell's half acre I'm doing that by hand. Must be my fault for not clearing the road for them, though. So, there's that.

i understand on your road it may be that way but if the neighbors see you are getting plowed on the wrong side to make it easier for you they will want the same thing and now the plow drivers are all on the wrong side of the road all the time. We all know how the government works. The next step will be to shut down all the roads til the government clears the for travel. I got a ticket in South Carolina in the 80’s for driving my motorcycle on the roads with just a dusting of snow. The state had closed the roads.

    Not trying to be argumentative.
But if it bothers you ( no one specific you is a general term ) wait til the plow goes by before clearing you drive.
