I built this claw out of 2" square steel, in the winter of 2002/2003. I was sure it would last about 15 minutes after the hydraulics got a chance to roll it up in a ball. Welp... 11 years later, she's still kickin', so I decided today it was time to Go Green...

Getting it ready to use on the pile of logs this coming week, I just couldn't "let it go" into it's 12th year without some paint... being a firewood hoarder n' all... ;):D

    Nice build Stinny!!!!!!

Do you worry about wear on the tractor if you start lifting and moving heavier stuff with it?

Not really. This lil tractor has "auto stupid" built right in. If I get stupid with too much weight, it just won't lift it. And, the tippy thing takes care of itself too. So... no worries... :D Bigger tractors must be a whole different thing and easier to get into trouble.

I thought it looked bigger than that, but then I saw the loader mount and wasn't sure. The claw makes it look big.

The main claw isn't quite as wide as the bucket is (48"). I made the mount up higher on the claw so I could rip down into the ground a bit if I needed to. That makes the main lift arms higher all the time. Maybe makes the tractor look bigger, dunno.
