Is there a spot to share scrounge opportunities with members? Maybe it’s too far, don’t have time, etc cut down to 17' lengths, ranging from 8" to 24" In diameter mostly pine, good for sawmill logs. Majority of logs larger in diameter. FREE must have your own equipment and truck.
I would grab a couple of truckloads of that for sure if it was close by. Great for SS, and fires at camp. Nice and straight, the perfect size to handle and work with.
Thanks for the heads-up! That's a 2-hr round trip for me. Not worth it with my mini van. I hope some member can get some.
Geez, that’d all look great CSS’ed and ready to go for the maple season! I’d use that for the arch all day. And restocking our kindling stack this spring. If it was closer I’d consider taking a few truckloads.
Adam - if you're really interested, let me know, I'd do a truck and trailer load with ya in exchange for some MKFF goodies.
There must not be a pulp wood market. Back in the 70s my brother cut pine and sold it to the pulp mills. I’d help him and it was a lot of fun.
Wish it wasn't so far. Thats two hours one way for me. If I'm headed your way we'll be splitting the oak from your scrounge pile and stacking it away on your pad and I'll just give you some syrup and honey from the farm anyways. How's that sound?
2 hr drive for me. Way too far for pine. Plus I'm still working blow downs from 2 years ago. Worth it if you are close just to not have to de-limb and top it. LOL. If it was cut down late Summer probably doesn't have bark borers in it yet. When I was working on dead standing oak in Freetown weekends a few years back there was a pile of pine logs that were for sale in a recently cleared one acre lot and had been for sale for over a year. One weekend there was a free sign out front and the next weekend all but the smalls were gone.
