So my wife and I are asleep just about 5:15 this morning, windows open, nice breeze coming in the window, Then…….. "CRASH" Yup, you guessed it. I remember back this winter when someone elses stacks fell, "man" I felt bad, It happened to me after Sandy, Here we go again.
Gull durn $!!©©ππ√£!! gravity! The aftermath shows that must have been a spectacular crash. Sorry to see it.
Look on the bright side Dave......at least you weren't sitting in a lawn chair in front of it with your morning coffee admiring your work. That woulda' been 2x as bad. The other good thing.......you get more practice stacking. Looks like at least 2 rows down?
Dave what a pizzer bro! Every couple of feet put a line of small splits sideways in the front to tip it back just a little. That works really well.
I brought wood to a guy that had a rack like that. I helped him stack 2+ cords, he stacked it all funky, leaning and way tall. I mentioned it and tried to fix it some but he wanted it done a certain way. The thing too is he would look at 5-6 pieces, pick a "perfect" one and stack it wrong. Anyhow, get paid and as I get in the truck... KA boom... whole 2 cords on the ground.... I did the.... Well sorry but supper is waiting for me... I gotta go. Wasn't too angry cause I brought another 2 cords a few weeks later.
Yup, exactly! 2 rows…. 16ft x 2 x 6ft high. It was partially my fault, I didn't finish it last night, I was tired, had a beer or 7 , called it quits and figured it would make it through the night. The plastic pallets settled and, well the result Dave….
Son of a! We must be having some small earthquakes here or somethin. Mine fell last week and it was definitely not operator error . That's my story and I'm stickin to it
So the Wife and Daughter told me my stacking job sucked… Ok, I said you do it then…..! So I went to finishing the maple and hickory, I'm donewaiting on them…..
That's great and hey don't feel bad about the stack falling, I've restacked more piles than I want to think about
The Boy's like it when they get to hot… Once my old lab goes in, the corgi is right behind him…. Most of the time they just drink from it, my well makes it nice and cold for them on warm days. Not to have bad thought's but my old fella is "SLOWING" down fast, the Dr.s say he is still in good health but he has a bad case of arthritis in his joints and we do the best we can to keep him going, he'll be 14 soon.
