Colder here. What's your temp? What ya burnin?

18 and 76 this morning still on coals. Supposed to be sunny and into the low 30’s today so we’re hoping for some ice melt. Patches of it everywhere. Rain coming late week but might turn to more ice. Anything but ice!

I gave the beast a big dose at 6 last nite.
Will likely rake coals and left over chunks ahead and burn down rest of day. Supposed to hit 36

Just got in from work and it’s 13c/56f outside, it’s only a couple of degrees warmer inside but it won’t take long at all to heat up. Debating on whether to let the oil boiler stretch its legs a little tonight

I agree with the other comments on this thread about the cold weather coming later on in the year; last year it got warm for a short time around Easter but I recall having to light a fire in early June when it dropped to 35f in the evening. It was similar in the year before that with relatively low temperatures right into May.

 

Gasifier and Backwoods Savage I mentioned it because I haven't heard them around here for awhile. They must be back now.



Well, one is anyway.

I have one of those "grease cakes" in a holder/feeder here but nothing is using it. The one at the cottage is eaten all up every time I get down there!

 

Heading for below zero temps overnight. Windy and right around 19f now.

 

32* and Wet snow. Have locust in stove. 73* in stove room.

 

32F and snowing now, 64F on Saturday. Tired of waiting for the lakes to freeze.

 

33 going to 25 overnight and that's about the high for tomorrow with snow flurries. Just put some pignut in the stove. Rain coming in for the weekend.

2f right now. It never did get below zero as clouds moved in and ended up with some snow....

 

25 with light flurries. Still burning last nights load at 76 inside. High around 30 today but getting windy and dropping into the low teens tonight. Crazy rain and in the 50’s on Saturday. Beats ice i guess. That’s coming Sunday

15° here. Tossed more Ash in when I left. Wife isn't complaining it's cold.

 

26* and snowing here burning poplar and spalted as cold coming in and saving the sugar maple.

 

Highs of 60 to 70 here for last couple weeks, and more warmth to come, ridiculous! Is usually coldest part of winter here, what little we have of it. People are not selling wood, I tell ya that! Been a very warm winter. Fall was colder than this, lol.
