    I sold my 626 a couple years ago. I miss it and half kick myself for getting rid of it. It was a clean one too....:(

    The AMT series is a good candidate to back-half for a trailer build as they were the the only Deere utility vehicles to utilize a frame. All Gators used a unibody type design that was tough as nails but would be tougher to do the same thing with.

    That is indeed a clean 626! You can't tell me you miss it over the XUV series Gator you have now tho...... :cool:

    It did ok.... They are underpowered, no suspension rattle traps that don't handle really great, but they were built really solid and were good workhorses. I worried about the kids tipping it over sometimes.

    The brake pads and rotors are insanely expensive from JD.....

    No doubt... You could almost buy another one for the cost of a major brake job... And they weren't even good when they worked... But MAN!!! Can they haul some weight!!! We put round bales in em' before... 800 # er's

    Your exactly right. It's one heavy duty machine and built to last...... It's like owning an old muscle car from the late 60's or early 70's. Great classic cars, and some of us should never have sold them, but they don't handle and have the technology of the newer hot rods.

    Yeah, that was one of my better you suck moments. I put new brakes on it and have to fix some rust that is forming but I didn't have to spend the 6k that I was originally planning on spending. The cost of used ones is so high there is almost no point.

    Truth. They always pop up used in similar condition to yours for $4k+. Nobody does squat for maintenance on them either. Usually have a pair of bald tires on the front axle, brakes shot, never had the bearings checked -- let alone re-packed or greased, body rusting, lights are a bad joke and that's if it's otherwise halfway straight, the gates work properly and the dump works/doesn't leak everywhere.

    Used trailers seldom make financial sense!

    I can buy a new landscape style trailer 16ft long with the side rails and ramp around here for $1400. Why buy a smashed up rusty ragged out one for $700-1200?

    Yup, always want top dollar for a used trailer and a completely trashed one is half of new. If I'm paying close to new I might as well spend a little more and get it exactly how I want it.

    I would be very wary of a 16ft landscape trailer that costs $1400. Single axle? (16ft way too long for SA unless very heavy materials are used to build but that drives up the price and makes it a gas-hog to tow.....) 16-20ft open tandem axle landscape/utility type trailers (7k GVWR) start at roughly $2600 locally and the models I would entertain purchasing hover at about $3k.
