Good afternoon. Had a dusting overnight. Temp must be above freezing as I can see an icicle dripping. Have a good day all.

Good morning fellow FWHC early birds! I am heading out in about 30 minutes or so to check a few lakes near home and do some ice fishing today. Hope you all have a great day at work or play!

    Good morning, everyone.

I expect to head out to cut-n-stack the red oak branches I scrounge the my folks house last week. Hoping it's enough to top off a rack with it.

After that, continue to put Christmas back in the basement. Only the tree and nativity sets left after that. Those may last the week.

We put away Christmas stuff as well this past weekend, all but the wreath out front. I usually end up taking that down sometime in March or April...whenever it starts to feel more like spring than winter around here.

It strikes me more each year when putting up, or taking down Christmas how fast the years go by. It always seems like it was just yesterday when we were doing this.

For us there have been only once in that last 30 years I have not driven my truck out to my darkhouse during a winter. The latest in the last 20 years I have been able to do that was 1/18 on year. This year may be pushing that, it I do it all, but I suspect I will be able to fairly soon.

We have 10" of ice now, so it just quads and snowmobiles so far. I have seen a few drive out in cars already, but no trucks yet here in the west metro of the Twin Cities. Places up north where they have kept up with plowing have 3/4 ton trucks and wheelhouses out.

Good morning everyone! Yesterday was fun, and went by relatively quickly as Sundays with my grandson go. We didn't finish our Lego kit, but there's always a next time.
I have to get outside today, though. The ash bucket is full, there's no birch kindling or maple left in the basement, and the rounds stacked up outside are staring at me. I'm going to have to put the Yaktrax on my boots though, there's a thick glaze of ice on top of the snow.
Warmup to the 50's the end of the week!
    Have a great day all!
