Hi everybody, new to forums and wood stoves. I just bought a 1987 country comfort cc150 off CL. There was a stove in the house i just bought but the previous owner took it and all the stove pipe. I was able to get the stove pipe back but not the stove so i bought this one. The issue is, either the flue collar was cut off, or it never had one so im trying to figure out out hoe to connect my black double wall stove pipe to it. The local fireplace store was no help, he said 20 years of experience and never seen anything like it. I will try to attatch some pictures. Thanks again 20200103_084828.jpg 20200103_084832.jpg 20200103_084835.jpg 20200103_084828.jpg 20200103_084832.jpg 20200103_084832.jpg 20200103_084835.jpg 20200103_084846.jpg 20200103_084832.jpg

Looks to me that there was a pipe or adapter that was inside there, judging by the color difference. I also see some threading that im guessing the adapter attached to. Best bet is to look for a manual for the stove.

The collar seems to be missing based on the stains. Probably will have to get one fabricated.

    Welcome aboard ---Chris---

I'm no expert, but my single wall flue pipe had a flared area where it joins.

It may be as simple as putting the pipe down in, till the flare meets the stovetop, and seal with furnace cement.

This would be perfect except those mounting holes would be over open space, if those 3 tabs where on the outside itd be a done deal. Ive been staring at that on amazon trying to figure out how to use it.

    [ B and G Woodstove ] in Canton, Ohio - (330) 492-7800 ask for Susan.
I promised I would mention that they have country comfort parts and manuals for a good portion of the country comfort woodstove product line.
please post this very helpful american company heartland company - which has purchased the entire parts inventory from C.C. Follansbe Steel.

Also, welcome to the FHC; we may get a bit excited at times over wood hoarding and the stuff that goes along with it.

    Hey Chris-
Looking a little closer at your stove pic, I circled this screw hole- are there 2 more holes, laid out in an equilateral triangle pattern?

One of the knobs is a bypass; you open it for starting the fire and once you have a good steady burn close it so you get secondary burns.

There are only 2 holes, front and back. There was a piece of single wall pipe with the crimped end shoved in the flue outlet and 2 self tapping sheet metal screws screwed into those 2 holes to hold it in place. But as you can see from the wierd discoloration, it wasnt sealing well at all.

    Ok. Gotcha.
I think if you went with a fresh piece like you did have in there, sealed with a quality furnace cement, you’d be fine.
It would be like a standard [welded] flue collar, just thinner. :salute:

It appears that there was a flue collar that was removed and then some large oval object placed on top of the stove. Take measurements of the diameter of the opening and then see what you can find to replace it. Also you might want to call the number I posted and see if you can get a flue collar for it.

OK I might have to try that period I think I'm gonna order the one off of Amazon and cut off the inside tabs and see if I can make a flange for it or something. What would be the best brand of furnace cement for his furnace caulking acceptable?

I don’t care for any brand sold in a caulk tube.... I’m sure some folks might sing praises, but I find it’s thinned down/lacking any sand grit....
I like Rutland or Rural King/Meeco in the tub.
