Pellet heads!! What's up today?

Happy new year savemoney

 

Took a couple of hours to de-ice the driveway yesterday. Even after a couple of days where the temps rose above freezing (okay, barely) and in the low 40's yesterday with rain. It took until almost 3pm until the base of some of the ice had warmed enough to let loose of the up to 1.25" of ice. Pictures taken this morning after the "dusting" last night



I'll need to sand the "driveway" to the tent garage (over to the right - out of picture)


Pathways are still not quite bare either. Will need to do selective sanding there too.

Well like Will I have been MIA but lurking so here is a little news. First Happy B day to Jay and Larry !
I haven't put anything out for a while so many thoughts and things have gone on. Wifey lost her job at the hospital and is working at a pharmacy now. She took a shot in pay though she is happier at work. I'm still working nights doing maintenance. Love the time off, have a moron for a boss though. Trying to catch up on doing things around the house. The money is good, mostly because of working at night. Very boring though. Had to work quite a bit of OT along with Christmas and New year eves. Can't wait to get to my next 4 days off. (starting next Wednesday )
Stove is doing well, pellets not so much. I had been "gifted" 1 3/4 tons of some old LG pellets. I believe they have been sitting in the guys shed for several years. Not sure if they were not that great from the start or they somehow lost there octane over time. Heat out put less than average. Very dusty, some more than others. I started running them through a screen after my auger got jammed with fines. During a cold snap a while ago got several bags of Stove Chow and what a difference. So now still running the old stock and if it gets cold again I will go back to the chows. Just want to get the old pellets out of the garage. Thank God its been mild.
Heart goes out to gbreda over the loss of their dog. We also had to put our sweetheart long hair dachshund down before Thanksgiving. 15 years old. Broke our hearts. Still feels weird month + later, even with 2 other dogs in the house.
Family is doing well. Went with older son and 3 yr. old Grandson to Cabelas yesterday. Love the Grandson so much. Fun fun fun . Kid is hilarious. Son is doing well in his job welding for the local utility. He and his wife are expecting another baby boy on March 1. Youngest son is doing well also. Butcher at local supermarket. I shot a nice 8 pointer with my bow this hunting season.
Enough rambling for now. I will try to find interesting stuff to write about more often. Happy New Year to all !!
