Not really that cold, but it is Ash wood.

My tree, fell onto neighbors property.

Started at it today cutting the top with a rebuilt saw, MS280. The rest will need something more substantial. But the 280 was fine up to 12” or so.

Probably 30”, now at knee high.

I think That saw lived on the market around 2 or 3 years most. It’s pretty scarce but shares a lot of parts with the 260 and 270. It is a PIA to work on if you had to fix one.
It is a cool looking saw.

    Nasty, wet, drizzly, raw day.

    Nice job!

It looks like the snow melted quite a bit during the day. What a great tree to fall so close to home, to give all your saws something big to cut!

And where it fell, no damage to neighbors property. Good score.

6BAD33F4-4CA4-4FF8-B690-13728D1720DC.jpeg Was able to get back out this morning. Took the 562XS so I’d have something fast and pretty easy to handle. Cut the smaller stuff to stove length.
Since most of it was off the ground I had a chance block it and then cut to log length.

Headed back out after lunch and changing out a toilet seat. 394XP. Good idea Midwinter !

Some Ash I find down isn’t worth the effort. It’s mottled and punky. I was afraid that would be the case with this one. It’s in really good shape.

I'm drooling! I hope it's not too hard to get it all home.

Got a rare hour of daylight to start wittling on it this afternoon.

Got 90% up to the house before the thawing field started to show some signs mudding up so I quit.
Surprised me to be just short of a cord and a half brought back so far.

Good you beat the mud, mostly. And the next snowstorm...
    That's a great looking stack!
