I have several standing dead or down BL. (Maybe 15 or so) Some are large, some not so impressive. But I'll take all I can! From 2 trees. Took a lot longer than I thought it would to get it out of woods. Needed to blaze a trail and everything is wet and muddy. Still about 6 feet of the large stuff left. It's buried under feet of thorns and brambles. Waiting for the X27. Muddy mess
Yeah, mud sucks. That's why I wait until it's frozen to work on stuff like this. If at all possible at least. Nice work though, that will be a nice pile of future BTUs.
I just looked at the long term forecast and may have no choice but to gather wood in the mud this year.

Not close to each other but I heard that great minds think alike. Lol Like its been said, I dont know if I'll have a choice working in the mud.
Biddleman that picture of your atv and trailer reminded me of at our GTG last spring. Armbru84 had brought his big splitter that was a nice pretty blue, but that is difficult to tell what color it was after all the mud splattered on it.
If I waited for the mud to dry in SE Pennsylvania I would be working in August amongst the poison ivy and skeeters. It rarely gets cold enough for trucks to stay on top of the soil and when it does I am working or ice fishing. I always have extra clothes, boots and gloves in the truck.

Yeah, I get it. I don't ice fish, aside from a rare invite. I just wait to haul when it's not muddy. When it's muddy, I'll split or stack, or cut in a pile. Whatever I can do to not make ruts and a huge mess.
That splitter is blue? Lol. I have a lane that goes up into my woods. Kind of steep. Between the quad and hard rain, its rutted pretty good at the bottom. Some parts of my yard look like they had tractor pulls on it. I see stone and grass seed in the future.
