Picked up the last of the black cherry/muscle wood & some pecan chunks from a massive downed limb. 261C made short work of them, switched to an 18' bar, .325, RS chain. Been trying out Trufuel mix 50.1 and its been firing up a lot more consistently (3 pulls vs 20). Yet, I've noticed after it runs 30-40 and shuts off...it takes about 10-20 minutes before it'll crank again!! Yet, I cut about 98% of my wood with it...guess it's time to put my ported/muffler modded MS 660 on the auction block! Great time in the woods. HAPPY NEW YEAR GUYS!!!
I acquired a 261 (non mtronic) over the Summer and love it. Upgrade from a 290. Nice pairing with my 460. There is a classified section here if you sell the 660. Food for thought. Nice score BTW!
It had become insolent and unruly! Seriously, my chainsaw had stopped, preventing me from sawing it, so I secured it with a chain to prevent it from being jettisoned or the cops engaging me.
My old 026PRO takes breaks when it gets worked really hard as well. I usually don't work it that hard/long so most of the time it's NBFD.
Why don't you have the saw serviced before you burn it down. When a saw doesn't run right, just stop.
Who said the saw doesn't run right. It doesn't like to start after it has been run like two hours straight. Doesn't happen too often. Been like that for 20 years and two carbs. Saw gets a clean bill of health semi-annually.
Well...it just started this. I'll check all the internals 1st... It's always been temperamental & it is serviced regularly.
