damm! Wind coming from dead east here, hits the mountain and gets amplified coming up the hill at us. It's intense, but I can only imagine what it's like there through the notch's.
Trees are starting to lean. Been mostly branches cracking and coming down. Heard a few when I stepped out a bit ago. Someone down the road had a chainsaw going. About 1000 people without power right now in the area. We have lucked out so far. Wondering what the rest of our property looks like. House sits at 1190 feet. Highest point on the property is 1472’.
Woke up at 6 and it’s was pouring rain. Everything was covered in ice. I left for work at 7 and the roads were pretty good. Power went out at 8 and it’s still out. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
You still getting freezing rain? Luckily (except for that big white pine?) The trees don't look super thick. Be safe
It’s changed over to sleet and a light snow for now. Happy about that. The ice accumulation isn’t as much as they thought it’d be at this point I don’t think. We are in a lull right now with very light precipitation but it’s supposed to ramp back up around 4 o’clock. That’s when I’m worried about most. The 12 hours between 4 pm and 4 am. Just walked down for the mail and it’s constant cracks and pops from up in the trees. It’s mostly the white pines I think. Lots of pine branches down. Saw a couple come down, too.
Powers out now and just heard the sirens from an ambulance and police car go screaming by. That’s maybe the second time ever that I’ve heard sirens here. Hope the situation is not too bad wherever they’re rushing to. Few rumbles of thunder, too. Weird day
