Re-built wood shed

Added a 44’x16’ roof and a third 12’x12’ bay. 8’ high at the bottom front beams. It is an engineered structure designed for 10 lb dead and 20 lb snow load. Will have roofing next month. The old shed was just not going to cut it. Pro 22c splitter shipped Friday. I’m going skiing at Mt. Baker. Have a happy new year all!

Looks awesome!! Who did the design for it? What kind of wind load is it designed to handle? Are the posts anchored in concrete? Nice how those “T” reinforcements keep the bays wide open as opposed to diagonal supports which would slightly obstruct the entrance.

 

I designed it architecturally and had help from a structural engineer on snow and wind load. All 8 posts anchored at 24” deep with 150 lb cement. Structural ties are all Simpson Strong-Tie with architectural elements on the reveal side.

 

I can’t “Like” this thread enough. That is the same style she’d I would like to build at my place. That shed will hold a lot of wood.

 

Close to 20 cord with room to spare by my estimate.

 

Really like the look of the hardware. Did you treat the ends of the of the posts before you buried them?

Well done. I have been considering something like this for my equipment. Concrete piers or pad? Very interested!!!!!

 

Pressure treated 4x6 sunk 24” in post hole with 100 to 150 lb quickrete. There is some lateral sway if I was on the roof and trying to rock it at its natural frequency but I don’t think I need gussets.

 

Cool. I bought the 6x6, 16 inch sonotubes, and 100 bags on concrete myself. Spring construction for me though..... looking forward to your updates so I can learn from your experience!!!!
