The glue didn’t even give me the satisfaction of “snap” before it dribbled off!

Was that a metric or sae screwdriver?

 

Ditto on drilling a small hole into it and tapping a Torx head bit in. That's worked for me as well.

 

Sorry, I wasn't real clear. I'm still working on them also, just not for a dealership. I opened my own shop years back. Still use the flat rate guide, but only as a guide. I truly enjoy my work now, especially if I can help someone out that may be having a tough time. Works out well.

My cuss storm was just one word long.

I was lucky though, the ping pong table was folded up on the other side of the cellar and the head of the screw stopped dead and was easy to see when it hit the floor.

I stared at the embedded part for a while, came up with a couple ideas and then decided to rally the experts.
