It looks like it was pressure washed. Cut it up for firewood. I have a stump and pine dump, so it would go there to slowly become dirt.
tough call. It is cool looking and would be ashamed to cut it for BTU's. I could see it cleaned up and used in a great room of a large house, like a big log home. Can some type of furniture be fashioned from it, maybe?
The rest of the tree will go into the stove, but I need to do something with this. That table idea is appealing!
Enough on the stump. How do you like the Deere 35g? How long have you had that? Had one on my Christmas list this year but apparently I wasn’t good enough. Looks like the operator might have a hard time reaching the foot pedals...
Way to pretty to burn, my $0.02. I wish I knew the difference, aquarium shops charge big bucks for tiny pieces of "ironwood" for decorations and water conditions for certain fish. Would you know Horkn ? Like above, taxidermy, and avian habitats, even tiny pieces for companies that supply plants and care for them for banks and businesses etc. All kinds of possibilities.
I like the 35G, as it only use it at my house. It certainly has its limits on lift capacity, but it’s perfect for medium to small stumps, drain tile and logs. The price was right and it sips fuel. I say go for it, John Deere financial has all kinds of money for loans!
I was thinking the same thing after looking at the pictures more closely, might be a long shot but is there a way that a Really wide wood mizer would help you to get that leveled enough for the roots to hold up a piece of glass?
Yes, that would fetch big bucks for an aquarium. It's large, but there's probably sometime looking for that. I think that would be fine for any freshwater tank.
This is the size of stumps that I’m dealing with. This one is red oak. Would you consider this to be a small or a medium sized stump??
