    Another good day in the woods. Husky 350 handled most of the work. I love it when they go from standing in the woods straight to the woodstove.

    Nice for sure. But I still find even with dead ash it is much better to leave it in the stack at least a year. Of course ours gets more than a year simply because we have so much but it does the wood no harm.

    I agree with this even with dead stuff, just seems better after split and stacked. Now if it a necessity, I have burned it right away but not for many years now.

    Yes, the dead ash I am finding on the ground that the bark is fallen away, still has an above 20 moisture reading. Letting it wait until next year will make it awesome. But when I split it in the woods, it goes to the boiler woodshed if there is room.
