Very recent Asplundh cutting from last week on a side road shortcut i take often to the main road in town. Drove by a few times while they were taking it down. Another wood i normally dont bother with and rarely scrounge, but too easy and decent to pass up a load. This was basically park, cut, and load right next to it. Even easier than the poplar score from last week. I cut all rounds to my 16"and left all the nuggets and cookies. Still lots there, all big uns, but one load enough for me. 1:45 hours to cut and load. I'll split and add this to the poplar from last week. First three pics before i started cutting. Mound of rounds/halves at my friends. Hit a few with the Fiskars and they split easy. I took mostly knot free! Would you have passed this up?
Heck no! I love some SM in the stacks...I need more of it, and even though its really common around here, its been years since I got more than just a few pieces here n there. I did get some Box Elder, which is similar, but I like SM better.
Nuthin wrong with the Silver - I take it, it used to be my most common score around here but lately (since mid last summer) Ash has taken the lead.
Get it while you can man, nice looking stuff. Nice stacking on the tail of the truck there. Hoard on buZZsaw BRAD hoard on
Wow. Right next to the curb... Doesn't get more convenient than that without being delivered! If you ever do come across cut down silver bells, grab all you can. It makes great firewood.
Nice. We love Silver Maple. I'm looking forward to when the 3 monsters (37 yrs old) at my Mom's need to come down.
