New grapple came today. it was everything i hoped for and then some. I had to get the hoses made to fit the machine. then of course I Had to test it out. [/IMG] I searched for many years and found the grapple that I felt would be the strongest and best designed. (I'm not paid by Faver, btw) I like how the tines are spaced out and there is nothing connecting the tines like most grapples. cause most manufacturers have weak designs on their grapple tines. there is no pushy sales approach when you place the order. the guy is just a down to earth guy. they don't do any advertising just build awesome stuff. (like super-split) they have a specific design for a firewood grapple. but since I cut and split larger pieces for the owb I just went with the 72" scx series.
I like how the grapple separates the firewood from the chips and splitter trash. [/IMG] you can see the power of the clamping force, I barely have a hold of this log and its holding it up. the oversized 3 inch cylinders deliver over 21,000 lbs of clamping force. most manufacturers use 2 inch or 2.5 inch cylinders, you cant really tell but in the first set of pictures the rear tires are up off the ground, so this cottonwood log is heaaaaaavy. I'm super happy to play with my new toy. don't hesitate to post a pic of your grapple in action!!!
Thats a badazz grapple! That's gooder that the tines arent attached. Should make cutting wood out of it a snap! I recently got a little grapple of my own. It's been a hit as well...
That thing is awesome!!!! it looks like it swivels? is that correct? Also is it a bypass grapple? just wondering. very cool either way!!
Yep manual swivel bypass grapple. It's made by a company called Branch Manager another down to earth co like Faver. It's been a game changer for tree work.
LOL!! never thought of that. I have a couple friends who would be safe in the zombie apocalypse , since they only eat brains.
Home here is a link to one of their light weight grapples. it weighs 619 lbs. you can call them too. they have specialty grapples not listed on the website.
