Hit the mountain of oak rounds this past sunday and monday with a little spill-over into today. So I removed splits from my stacks, then split and replenished. It’s like an ebb and flow. Sure is an awesome feeling to have a great wall of wood.

The spot just beyond the middle is this high:

Got into the mulberry this afternoon.

Stack contains about 98% oak! In 2 years and beyond I’m going to be livin the high life with wood burning. Life is good!

They haven’t been respectable in a very long time. One thing you can say about a Raider fan, that’s one loyal sob.

There's still a chance they can make the playoffs this year.

I went to the Packers game vs the raiders this year. The raiders have loyal fans, unlike the other team from the Bay area. Those fans are fair weather fans. My wife grew up a raiders fan as she grew up in the Bay area. She was converted by Brett Favre into being a Packer fan. Some of her family are just now realizing that the 9ers are somehow good this year. These are people that never were fans before.

Nice work on the oak and mulberry.

    Nice.

Looks kind of close to the building (snow sliding off roof) but then again, there has got to be enough space allowed for that judging from those cedars? (Dang pics and old eyes!)

I’m not sure. After I finish splitting the rest in my staging area, I’ll get an official measurement. I’m going to guess 20.

One of my bucket list items will never be fulfilled. Always wanted to attend a home game and be in the black hole. I’m not so enthusiastic about the move.

For the end of my stacks, I use T-posts to keep them from falling, I use a rope anchored to an old white pine tree base and a rod of rebar about 1/2 way down the row.

You can also see the splits are apart at the bottom and slowly lean into each other, then pieces on top to lock them in and to help prevent water to accumulate on the rubber tarp. The only time snow slide from the roof got me was when I had fresh stacks of apple, which are primarily not straight.

    Great stacks!
Makes my crappy wood look extra crappy. Maybe I should just burn em up and try again.

    Merry Christmas all.

REALLY Impressive Jason! It is an awesome feeling to stand back and admire all your hard work. I should do it more often.
I think you could fit more splits on top of the stack, just sayin! A stepladder maybe???
I know you have more wood to hoard (do we ever not have any?). Where will new wood go in relation to that stack?
