I took a ride today to check out pricing at HD and Lowe's as it has been a while since I had done so. I also wanted to make sure I wasn't missing out on some different pellet choices. As I expected, HD was selling FSU's and MWP Blend for $209. I was surprised, however, when I got to Lowe's. They were selling their lower end pellets, Maine Choice and Nature's Own, at $223 a ton. I didn't see or look for a Greene Team price. So it seems that any hope of a big box price war pushing pellet prices lower is out of the question for now.

Well, our prices are a little better but your choices are better.

But those guys in Ohio are probably snickering.

And the guys out west are rollin! They get DF's for something like $180

We're the same CT. $219/ton But the selection is horrid! GS-Inferior-NA. So I topped off with 20 bags of MWP fron TSC @$4.68/bag for now.

Actually, our HD and Lowes have been pretty high for last 2 yrs. I bought my PTL's 3 yrs ago and that was the last time they were anywhere near $200 (got them at $177).

Right now, Lowes and HD are around $250 ($5 a bag) around us. It's Menards that takes care of us pellet burners or TSC. My local hardware has Sets for $220. Which isn't bad.

It's not just the pricing but the quality of the pellets that is killing me! What did OMV pay for the truckload of Sets he bought? It was a lot higher than $220. The veteran's discount bails me out a little.

And we don't have Menards in Maine.

That is such BS...they have them here for $230, which IMO is still too much but I'm cheap!

I have ProPellets for $230 plus tax. They are the best. 100% indoor storage.

Woody (white shepherd) had some kidney issues and is no longer with us. Pellet (black shepherd) is awesome and a slim 120 lbs. Pellet goes everywhere with me and is chewing on a beef bone a customer brought him. Thanks for asking.

I lost one of my labs in late March, Mazey, she was only three. We think it was bloat. Felt like I lost a part of myself when she passed. Take care.

With the quality that has been coming out of the mill I will do a stove to stove challenge with any brand. Bring them on the beer fridge is full here.
