Nice load of Cherry

I had cut this Cherry tree behind the house a few months back and just got around to stacking it. Got a long bed on the F150 and it was almost full, man I like the way it splits so easy.

Smells good when you burn it or smoke with it

 

Looks like a fun job in nice weather. Should dry fast where you are. It seems to take a few years for me, even though people have said it dries quicker for them.

Agreed. This was smoked with a cherry limb that fell in my yard from a wind storm.

 

I love smoking with cherry.

Nice jag of wood! Cherry has a lot going for it but some of my friends here don't like it. They are put off by the bands of bark that hold the halves together when you split. I run a groove down down the length of the trunk with the tip of my saw to cut the bark. Makes hand splitting easier.

 

I like cherry almost as much as oak. Great firewood. Have me 3/4 cord drying

 

I had to do the same thing with black birch.
