The stuff is nasty. I take mine before I go to bed and I can feel the effects within 5 minutes.

I Truly wish the best for everyone with a health challenge I have had my own share through out my life but as I get older a lot more seem to be coming my way . Currently I don't take any meds and will try to keep it that way as long as possible. The only thing (s) I take are ibuprofen occasionally when the pain becomes to annoying and daily as in ritual I take 1000 mg of magnesium gel caps to keep me clean .

Both of my parents take at least 12-14 pills a day to combat their illnesses and hence the reason I really do try not to take any medicine . With that said I have become more aware and responsible with visiting the doctor as both my parents are Cancer survivors . My doctor visits span 8-10 years with the latest 5 years if you subtract my shoulder issue. Tonight I noticed something bugging me on my lip and without seeing it I thought hmmm maybe a cold sore but I never get them but have had them . Once I got home I checked it out and I have a legion or bump on my lip with a black center so previous I would let it play out for the duration but not anymore tomorrow before work I will be going to a clinic to have it checked out . Huge change for me but I believe a necessary one as I have heard preached repeatedly early detection early treatment means survival and I am a survivor. I have no fear of death but love my wife and pets dearly so I will get it checked out.

Keep on Keeping on People ! Wish everyone whom is suffering healing and a better quality of life !

Amlod is both a vasodilator and a ccb it comes in 3 strengths 2.5, 5.0, and 10mgs. It has a half life between 32 and 52 hours. I can handle 2.5 and barely handle 3.75 mgs. Yes, I'm always cutting pills. Some people are on 10mgs,it puts my BP in the dirt and me with it.

No biological half life, it takes close to five times that to completely leave the body.

I recently heard procardia (bp med, also a vasodilator) can be compounded into a cream for Raynauds. I'm asking rheumy next visit for a scrip.

When beta blockers first showed up they weren't used if one had Raynauds.

Yes Procardia is a CCB who's use has been changed to include uses for which they weren't originally allowed. Just like the beta blockers.

Have you folks figured out that meds are kind of a joke, they might work today and maybe tomorrow next week is an optional extra.

I had to go look at a car for my wife in Belchertown Mass yesterday. Really nice guy...kinda like me. Anal about his stuff. He's also handy and always looking for a deal. I noticed he had bags of pellets in the garage and asked what kind of pellet stove he had. He said he had 2. A P38 and a P61. He told me he picked up the P68 last year for $300. He said a woman in town had it and was complaining it didn't work any more. She wanted it gone. She was going to give it away. He made a deal with her and grabbed it for the $300. When he looked at it, he couldn't believe how dirty it was. The combustion blower fan was clogged solid and the ask pan was full up to the burn pot. He figured it had never been cleaned...ever. After a disassembly and thorough cleaning complete with a new combustion fan and motor, it fired up and has been running perfectly ever since. That was a deal!

Funny thing is he burns horse bedding pellets from Tractor Supply. He says the Harmans love them and they are cheap at $4.50 a bag on a bulk purchase.

Ended up buying the car. I left my house at noon and was home by 6:30...over 2 hour drive one way!

So was it a P38 or a P68? Not that it makes a difference - either way that was a steal!

Bedding pellets from TSC are more expensive than burning pellets in my area but in a pellet shortage, they will do. The blond ones are said to burn a lot better than the dark ones (I've only seen & burned the dark ones).

They'll burn, but higher ash levels, and as BB said, may not be a great deal.

The P68 was the $300 steal. No idea why he's choosing horse bedding over a quality pellet. Even if he saves over a buck a bag. Then again, he's burning two stoves so maybe he's burning tons of pellets. Still....
