I'm always on the lookout for wood that needs cut while hunting. Spied this blown over ash tree. I didn't look close but when I got there today turns out it was 2 ash trees .Gonna make some wood. Some long time small dead standing locust in the area too.
Nice load! That locust will be nice too I bet being dead a while. Just bang the ants out and good to go. Bag any meat yet this year?
Only got a doe. When I found this wood I was walking for some other guys to push deer. The locust trees aren't that big. Might just burn them as rounds. Ants are BTU's too.
Nice score there! Nice to be able to get the tractor in to haul out the rounds. I do the same when I’m out for deer... find myself “hunting” for trees more than deer....
Missed the thread. Im always on the prowl for firewood. Nicely done . Tractor make sit a lot easier for sure!
Nice farmer steve. I too, when hunting, find many trees that need cutting. Sometimes even find our Christmas tree. Occasionally I find a nice buck too!
NICE looking stuff! Dontcha wish every load of wood was frosted with locust?! Better locust than snow! What is the yield per bucket full farmer steve ?
6 buckets made a little over 2 cord Brad. Worked it all up today. The locust goes in a seperate pile.
Thanks. 2 buckets split tossed in from the splitter yield about 1/4 cord. This was the last bucket today. I throw it on till it starts falling off.
