Does anybody have any experience with the zero clearance stoves. I currently have a majestic fireplace insert but am looking into stoves. I have a brick fireplace but above the first floor the brick stops. It currently has a 6" liner running through the roof. First is it possible for me to run this stove and second how are they? I am also open to any other stoves that will work in my situation.
Ok first off your majestic is not an insert it is a fireplace. Yes you could switch it out for a new zc fireplace. The buck is a normal insert but they designed and tested a zero clearance cabinet for it. So you would need to remove your existing fireplace and chimney make any nessecary modifications to make the new unit fit then install the unit with a new chimney to match that unit
Sorry about that. This is my first house with a fireplace. I am just learning about the differences between a stove and a fireplace. Would the 74zc put out more heat and use less wood than what I have now? My fireplace now puts out good heat with the blower on, but uses a ton of wood.
