    I don't believe we have the option to just change your name like my wife says people do on Facebook?

    The problem with changing a screen name is that no one knows who you are. You would have to inform everyone all the time that your the person they were talking to before. And then people who didn't know would be looking twice and trying to figure out what's going on when all your old posts are now under some new name.
