What?! No heated seats?! I suppose that trashy thing doesn't have a heated steering wheel either?... The nerve of those folks to sell a car like that. No wonder you got it on a discount.

LOL nope! I really was playing up my displeasure on the test drive, hoping it might get me further discount, and he told me that often they will just send cars to auction if they dont have those things up here, but because this one had such low miles, they gave it a shot. No heated mirrors either, which was what really shocked me most. I mean my wifes Kia has them! I hate when I have to scrape my mirrors, and then it takes me 3 days to get them just right again.

Yeah heated steering wheels are harder to find in the US than they should be. I know you you are joking around, but to get heated wheels in the US on most vehicles that offer it, you need to spring for every or nearly every option. One exception I saw was new ram 1500 pickups. Heated steering wheel is only like a $100 option and available on all but the cheapest trim.

I'll say it again, but if you live anywhere it gets even a little cold outside, a heated steering wheel is the best option ever. I'd take a heated steering wheel over heated seats, but I haven't seen a vehicle that didn't have heated seats if it has a heated steering wheel. I never want to own a vehicle that will be driven in winter again that doesn't have a heated steering wheel. My f150 and my Audi allroad before the truck have/ had heated steering wheels.

    Mwalsh9152 is that a 3.6 v6 in that xts?

Then you'd have a heated dash, heated seats, heated steering wheel, AND literally Hot Pockets!!

I don't think I could do leather seating unless it was heated. The couch in my house is bad enough in the winter.

While Ive never experienced a heated steering wheel, I am sure that its life changing below 15 degrees! And yes, it is a N/A 3.6 V6. I'm still VERY leery of all these small CID turbo engines. I'm probably not going to keep this one outside the 100K powertrain warranty. However, if I really like the car, I will probably end up replacing it with a 2019 Luxury model of the same car. I'll be able to take my time on that one and get the color that I want, and I'll wait to find one of the grandpa specials thats 3 years old and only has 9K on it. I'll keep that one for a while, as '19 is the last year for the XTS.

We have heated seats in both our cars and because of the leather trim. It is an absolute necessity. Nothing like getting warmed up on your butt and back. It’s great if your back is sore too. We never had a heated steering wheel, and I can tell you it will be mandatory on our next vehicle. This morning I went out at 7 and it was 12 degrees. I let the car warm up with the heated seat on and when I got in it was toasty, but the steering wheel was like grabbing hold of an icicle. I had to put on ski gloves to drive, and I hate to drive with gloves on.

As we get older all these little things and conveniences that we used to laugh at as being extravagant become necessities. It’s either that or move to a warmer climate.

One of the dumbest ads I've seen. Gm is full of crap marketing.

Since at the time gm didn't offer a heated steering wheel, and it's still not easy on a new gm truck to find a heated steering wheel as it is on a new ram, they resort to name calling by a guy that used to play and now wears fancy shoes and make up daily in addition to the manicures he's belittling..

Maybe that's why gm lost out the #2 selling trucks to Ram?

    Just saying.
