Just pay no attention to those that preach such nonsense.

And with that being said, with all the warnings, operations, health advisories, nurses and doctors, prescriptions, etc. etc. they haven't saved one of us from death yet!

We got an air fryer from my BIL yesterday. It works.
Nothing too great to report. We made fresh cut french fries. Not much different than baking in the oven. Definitely not like fried in grease.

We got an air fryer today. It was $55 I after discount and sales on a $130 unit.
We broke it in with beer battered cod and homemade sweet potato fries.

The cod was ok. The batter was crispy, but the fish was tasteless. I'll need to figure out a better recipe. The sweet potato fries were good right away, but we put them in the oven on low to keep them warm and they got soggy when we ate dinner. I see that we could've done this differently to keep the crispiness.

I think we'll try a whole chicken in it next.

We have the Foodi one and so far it is still being used over a year later. Not quite as good as deep fried but no mess. It's also a slow/pressure cooker. Only complaint is that it's kinda small......you nibble the first batch of fries away while the second is cooking so you wind up making a third one.

Oh yeah, we do have a nice real oil fryer that was a wedding gift to us from friends. It works great and all, but it's a pita to clean it, and it takes a bunch of oil. That and it's not as healthy.

I thought I might update. I donated the Quessadilla maker, George Forman gill and a couple other gadgets previously. That neat air fryer has sat idle on the shelf for quite a while now.....
