Truck prices are straight up insane. I cant fathom buying a truck with over 100k on it for $30,000! My Bronco will be staying as well. Though, its going to be getting a regular pickup cab and a short flatbed. Broncos aren't good for what I need it for, and the Broncos went way up in value since I bought this last body.
I sold my old wheels & tires on craigslist yesterday. Factoring in that and the cyber Monday rebate, the new wheels and tires cost me under $600 out of pocket. Not bad at all. And there's a HUGE improvement in my truck's ride quality with the new tires.
When I replaced the Goodriches that came with my Tacoma and put on Michelins it was like a whole new truck. The Goodriches were good tires in the snow and woods/mud but man they sucked on the highway. They were cupping and getting louder. The Goodriches probably would have gone 100,000 miles but that 2-3 mpg increase was nice along with a smooooooooth ride.
And some counties are worse than others. In mine,we pay a fairly reasonable rate.Half mile down the road in the next county, they pay three times as much.Next county over doesn't have personal property tax but it's a sparsely populated county with two big corporate tax payers.
Well billb3 if you had been with me today, you would have seen may of those myths all over the side of the road once again! The plows hadn't knocked them into the snow yet, but they will! No doubt some of them are "normal" r non-retread tires, but when you see the majority of them leaving anywhere from 3 feet to 7 feet rubber strips of only tread, it makes even the unschooled think of retreads. Maybe the laws in Mass are different restricting the use of retreads? I dunno….. At any rate, the timber rats (whitetails) took a real beating last night as there were numerous carcasses on both side of the highway! They must be moving into their winter yarding areas....? Maybe, but they were still on the move as of noon today.
